The past year has been different from
the other years. Not because of the obvious answer, such as 'because
Trump isn't in Office anymore', but because of a world wide pandemic.
Governments around the world started a so-called 'lockdown', where
everyone is supposed to stay at home as much as possible, to prevent
further spread of COVID-19. To my delight, this applies to everyone,
including teens who are bored at school and wanna stay at home as much
as possible, to keep playing the Assassin's Creed Franchise, Minecraft
or some other stupid game and to keep reading Percy Jackson or some
other weird book.
I was exulted when I heard the news, since I happen to be one of the teens described above. I made a solemn oath to vote for VVD at least once, as soon as I'm eligible to vote, just as a thanks for Mark Rutte and his great cabinet and the great coalition who made this possible. My mind was racing through all the new possibilities that opened up.
I would be able to play a lot more Minecraft, finish Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey and I didn't know back then that I'd use a lot of my time in lockdown, reading around 40 English books, which was a variety of Homer's Iliad to Percy Jackson and The Olympians and Skulduggery Pleasant. My time in lockdown was well spent, as due to lockdown, I was able to do a lot more independent self study and I realized that I didn't really need real-life classes, as online lessons do fine for me.
The assignments, tests and homework were quite easy for me to do, if I didn't understand something, I could just look it up on the internet and when I did understand something, I didn't have to show up for lessons at all!
So the past few months I have been programming a lot in the beginning, then moved on to finishing 2 AC games, read around 30 books varying from Greek mythology, to shady detective stuff and honestly, it felt like a breeze. Things have been incredibly relaxed lately for me and since I know that quarantine and this blissful time is coming to an end soon, I'll try to enjoy the last days I still have left
